Charles Frederick Weisend, founder, dies at 83

Posted On: 7/31/2009
MESQUITE, TX (Jul. 31, 2009) - On Friday July 31, 2009 our employer, leader and friend Charles Frederick Weisend known to all as “Fritz” passed away peacefully while asleep at home after a brief illness. He was born March 14, 1926 in Bellaire, Ohio, the son of Francis Charles Weisend and Martha Katherine Krueger.

Fritz served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp, finishing his service (as a malaria survivor) in the Panama Canal region. He started Fritz Chemical Company in Mesquite, TX in 1956 and incorporated in 1959 and since 1993 it has been more familiarly known as Fritz Industries, Inc. He served as President from August 1974 through September 1976 on the Board of Directors for Dallas Society for Crippled Children (an affiliate local agency of the National Easter Seals Society for Crippled Children and Adults.) Fritz will be genuinely missed by his loved ones, friends, and many generations of employees. “He wasn’t just responsible for giving us a place to work; he was responsible for providing miracles and a family atmosphere that made it an honor to come to work each and every day”.

Recently, Fritz handed the reins of Fritz Industries, Inc. over to Mr. Dan Montgomery to serve as Executive President and Chairman of the Board. Dan has served the company for more than 20 years and most recently as National Sales Manager for the Oilfield Division. We can expect that Dan will keep the company moving forward on our current projects and bring with him new exciting initiatives for the many years ahead.

A viewing and memorial have been scheduled to remember Charles Frederick Weisend:

Thank you to everyone who attended the memorial. Your support and condolences were very much appreciated.
